Gardens and parks in Hyderabad:
Indira Park is basically a recreation park for children in the city of Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh. It is located close to lower Bund Tank by the Hussainsagar Lake. It derives its name from the former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. Amongst the oldest parks in the area, Indira Park in Hyderabad occupies about 76 acres.

The foundation stone for Indira Park at Hyderabad was laid in 1975 by Late Faqruddin Ahmed, the then president of India and it became accessible to the public in 1978.

Covering a vast area with beautiful and luxuriant greenery, it provides a good picnic and hangout spot. In 1994, Indira Park of Hyderabad received certain additions such as computerized musical fountain and waterfalls, a nursery and a rose garden. The park offers boat rides. It has become a popular destination for joggers. Presently the park is being restructured and modified on a large scale.

It is a delightful entertainment park for everyone, particularly school children, families and tourists. What characterizes Indira Park of Hyderabad and sets it apart from the other parks and gardens in Hyderabad is that it has been designed and landscaped in a novel manner, without altering the natural components like wild date palms, keuvda plantation, the sandalwood trees and fruit trees like mango, kalajamun etc. Several small stalls and stores stock cool drinks and snacks.

About 25 lakhs of revenue per annum is earned from the entry fee, canteen, parking, boating pond and film shootings. The park also provides a breathing space in the heart of the city.

Lumbini Park- Situated near the Tank Road, it lies just opposite a famous Buddha statue. Frequented by all age groups, it has several eateries, a colorful floral clock, waterfalls and musical dancing fountains.
